Hennessey Funeral Home Memorial Day Celebration

Hennessey Funeral Home at 2203 North Division is having a Memorial Day event, Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27, 9am to 5pm each day, honoring and celebrating our Veterans and our loved ones. The celebration is in the spirit of the King of Rock 'n' Roll starring Ben 'Presley' Klein and the Zonky Jazz Band performing some of the Elvis' greatest hits. 3 shows, Sunday at 1pm, and Monday at 1 and 3pm.

Plus, more entertainment from the Brass Works Band, TnT, and a Steel Drum performance by Taylor Belote. There will be Veterans Memorabilia, a Working Railroad, Joe Bruce's NASA Space Display as well as The Hassie Club classic and antique car show. There's no cost, and there will be plenty of coffee, cookies, popcorn, plus hot-dogs mid-day.

KHQ/WorkSource Job Fair to be held May 23

The Spokane Workforce Council partners annually with KHQ and WorkSource Spokane to offer Spokane's largest hiring event, to be held this Thursday, May 23 at the Spokane Convention Center. Hours are from 11am-2pm. This job fair is a true community event, and employers from many different industries will be in attendance. This is a hiring event, and job offers are made on the spot every year. This is a great opportunity to speak directly with businesses that are hiring. Spokane Public Library will bring their mobile computer lab where attendees can print resumes and apply to jobs online right from the fair. Admission is free.

Manito Plant Sale June 1

The Friends of Manito Annual Spring Plant sale will be held on Saturday, June 1 in the parking lot just east of the Gaiser Conservatory in Manito Park. There will be a huge selection of perennials, shrubs, vines, ornamental grasses, vines, houseplants, and much more. Sale hours are 8am to 3pm. Friends of Manito members receive a 10% discount at the sale.

Linnie's moves to Sunset Highway location

Linnie's Thai Cuisine, one of Spokane's oldest authentic Thai restaurants, has moved locations and is now re-opened at 5306 W. Sunset Highway in the building that formerly housed the Asian Restaurant. Now in its 29th year of business, this will be Linnie's fourth location. Their most recent restaurant was in the building that for decades was The Shack, one of Spokane's longest-standing and legendary restaurants. Volunteers of America purchased the property last year. Linnie's is open Monday through Friday, 11am to 9pm, and Saturday from 4 to 9pm.

Learn the keys to financial management, along with resources and financial management practices. Especially valuable for those who are already in business.
