Spokane Open House Weekend April 27 & 28



Many Spokane area homes for sale will be open for visitors this weekend as part of the 9th Annual Spokane REALTORS Open House Weekend, this Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28. Hours are 10am-5pm both days. All participating open houses are listed on SpokaneOpen.com.

Open house visitors may enter a drawing (21 and older; one entry per person, per house) for a $500 cash card. Winner will be drawn and announced on Wednesday, May 1. Enter once at each participating Open House to increase your odds of winning.


Custer's Annual Spring Antique & Collector's Sale this weekend



Custer's 44th Annual Spring Antique & Collector's Sale is this Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28 at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center. Media and Ad Man Steve Whitehead passes away



Stephen Ray Whitehead, born August 13, 1948 lost his valiant battle with cancer April 4, 2019. A Spokane native, Steve graduated from Shadle Park High School, attended WSU and graduated from Whitworth with a BA in English.

After college he took is creativity and wit into the business world, embarking on a distinguished career in advertising and media, working with ad agencies Desautel and Long, and Clark White & Associates in the 80's. Steve was a strong creative force in the Spokane advertising business, winning many awards for his work. He went on to be an integral part of the Spokane television business as part of the group that put KSKN TV on the air October 1, 1983.

He is survived by his partner of 17 years, Mary Jane 'MJ' Clarke, mother, Eloise Whitehead, sons Ty and Cary, sister Kathie Doyle-Lipe, brother David, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of Steve's life Saturday, May 4, 1pm at the Chapel in Sunset Mausoleum at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 West Wellesley Ave.


At Home decor superstore now open in Spokane

At Home, the new home decor superstore, is now open in the former Costco building at 6902 N. Division. The new store has 88,000-square-feet and offers more than 50,000 home decor items, from furniture, mirrors, rugs, art and housewares to tabletop, patio and seasonal decor across a variety of styles. There's an open house on Saturday, May 4 starting at 9am featuring gift card giveaways for the first 50 people who visit the store and sign up for their At Home Insider Perks program. A second At Home store will also be opening in the former Kmart store building in Coeur d'Alene.
