The Spokane Golf Show coming this weekend



The 21st Annual Spokane Golf & Travel Show is this weekend, Saturday & Sunday, February 23-24 at the Spokane Convention Center. At Home taking over CdA K-Mart location this spring



We recently reported that At Home, the home decor superstore, will be opening this spring in a part of the former N. Division Costco building. News just in that At Home is also converting the former K-mart location on Highway 95 in Coeur d'Alene into another store. At Home will occupy the entire 87,400-square-foot building. The Texas-based stores carry over 50,000 items including furniture, garden, housewares, rugs, home decor, seasonal merchandise and more. Check out athome.com.


JOB's Business Icons Luncheon Feb 27



The Business Icons Inland NW event is a new annual celebration of Inland Northwest business pioneers. Celebrate these innovators who shaped our region and positioned it to be the vibrant, prospering community it is today. Dave Clack, Harlan Douglass, Leroy Nosbaum, Paul Redmond, Larry Stanley and Bill and Judi Williams will be honored.

STCU expands home loan team



STCU has hired two new home loan officers at its Argonne Home Loan Center in Spokane Valley.

Jennifer Bleggi brings more than 13 years of customer service and real estate experience. She joins STCU from Scottsdale, Arizona, where she was a mortgage loan officer.

Kelli Fahy has been working with homebuyers for more than 15 years, most recently in the title insurance industry. She is a graduate of Boston College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in history.

They will join a staff of four home loan professionals at the Argonne Home Loan Center, 9207 E. Mission Ave., which opened last year to serve members seeking home loans, construction loans, and land loans.


Lukus Collins takes on treasurer role at STCU



Lukus Collins is STCU's new treasurer and balance sheet strategist. He will provide planning and oversight to the accounting and finance department, coordinating liquidity management, investments, and balance sheet strategies to ensure the credit union meets its goals while making sound financial decisions.

With more than 14 years of financial leadership experience, he joins STCU from Oklahoma City, where he was most recently vice president and treasurer at Frontier State Bank. Collins is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and the University of Detroit Mercy, where he received his master's degree in economics.


Architects West opens Spokane Office



Architects West, an architectural and land planning firm based in Coeur d'Alene, has opened an office in Spokane located in the McKinstry Innovation Center, 850 E. Spokane Falls Blvd. Keith Dixon, a Principal with the firm, said "The time was right for Architects West to expand, given our strong client base and workload. While we have worked throughout Spokane, Eastern, and Central Washington, we see this as a means to tap into new opportunities, build our talent pool, and increase our community involvement. Architects West has a staff of more than 30 employees, including many who live in the Spokane area who can now be based closer to their homes."

Dr. Anne Kieryn, Surgical Breast Oncologist joins Summit Cancer Centers



Dr. Anne Kieryn has joined the Summit Cancer Centers as a surgical breast oncologist practicing with their team of multi-disciplinary cancer specialists. Dr. Kieryn received her surgical breast oncology fellowship training at Stanford University, one of the most preeminent cancer care and research universities in the US. She has unique expertise in breast conservation, oncoplastic surgery, genetic testing, and risk reduction interventions that will benefit patients throughout the region.

Dr. Kieryn graduated medical school from the University of Vermont after devoting twelve years to the US Military. She continued her education and fellowship at Stanford University in surgical breast oncology and diseases of the breast. She enjoyed additional time at Stanford University as a clinical professor. Prior to coming to Spokane, Dr. Kieryn was the Medical Director, and integral part of establishing a new cancer center in Utah, in a medically underserved area of the State. In addition, Dr. Kieryn served as a member of the Utah Breast and Cervical Cancer Medical Advisory Board of the Utah State Department of Health. She is also active with the American Cancer Society and Image Reborn Foundation, a breast cancer survivor organization.
