The 21st Annual Spokane Golf & Travel Show will be coming to the Spokane Convention Center on Saturday & Sunday, February 23-24, 2019. Klundt Hosmer, a leading branding and digital agency in Spokane, has hired Meghan Upton as Digital Marketing Coordinator. Meghan graduated from Eastern Washington University with a B.A. in Business/Marketing and has over three years of top-ranked experience in marketing, sales, and search engine marketing. Before joining Klundt Hosmer, Meghan was a Search Marketing Coordinator at etailz, Inc., where she managed Amazon Marketplace search for the firm's partners, including sponsor ads, headline ads and display ads. Her experience has direct application in digital marketing, campaign management, and SEO services for Klundt Hosmer.
Alliant Insurance Services Inc. plans to add 50 to 100 employees at its Spokane offices within the next two years due to several acquisitions. The company has already more than doubled its Spokane-area workforce to over 160 since their acquisition of the brokerage firm of Moloney+O'Neill four years ago. Alliant has leased 5,000-square-feet in a multitenant building on the West Plains, but depending on how many new employees will join Alliant, the company might end up leasing up to twice as much space.
Thanks to generous donations from Litehouse Foods, the Helander family and the Blue Cross Foundation, the YMCA has opened the Litehouse YMCA in the former Sandpoint West Athletic club location at 1905 West Pine street in Sandpoint.
The Spokane Workforce Council has recently hired Derelyn Howard as the new Apprenticeship Development Specialist serving the Spokane area. Derelyn brings expertise and a passion for the apprenticeship model with years of experience recruiting for manufacturing, pre-apprentice and apprenticeship programming at Technical Employment Training, Inc; the San Francisco Conservation Corps; and WorkSource Spokane. Creating and developing new registered apprenticeship opportunities will be her main focus with the goal of supporting local businesses which struggle to compete for new employees.
Registered apprenticeships allow businesses to train and develop their own employees in-house, coupled with classroom instruction from an authorized training provider to ensure state-of-the-art industry skill standards are met. Registered apprenticeships can be an integral part of the solution to recruit, train, and retain a skilled workforce. This Saturday, December 15 from 11am-2pm, the Ramada by Wyndham Spokane Airport
