NorthView Family Dental is hosting 6th annual free day of dental care

For the sixth year, NorthView Family Dental will be partnering with Dentistry From The Heart to host a FREE dental care event on Friday, September 21. The event will be held at NorthView Family Dental's office, located at 5901 N Lidgerwood, in Spokane from 7am-1pm.

Dr. Robert Leale and Dr. Brett Startin (NorthView Family Dental) and a team of dental professionals will provide free extractions and fillings to those adults who don't otherwise have access to quality dental care. Hygienists, dental assistants and other dental professionals will all be donating their time and resources in order to provide free dental care to as many people as possible. Last year's NorthView Family Dental - Dentistry From The Heart event did more than 150 procedures on 71 patients, receiving more than $40,000 in services.

Prospective patients are asked to arrive between 7am and 1pm that day and be prepaired. Wait times can be lengthy if they haven't RSVP'd on Facebook, but NorthView Family Dental will have snacks and drinks on hand to help pass the time quickly. Get more details at northviewfamilydental.com.


Spokane Fantasy Flight annual fundraiser Sept 15

Northwest Pole Adventures Fantasy Flight presents the 2018 Annual Fundraising Auction, coming Saturday, September 15 from 6-9pm at the Spokane Convention Center, Centennial Ballroom. The proceeds from this auction will benefit Northwest North Pole Adventures Spokane Fantasy Flight. The Fantasy Flight provides a magical trip to the North Pole for some very special children from area shelters and community programs. They are flown to the North Pole for an evening of fun and surprises.

The cost is $75 per person, $25 of ticket price is a direct contribution to Fantasy Flight.

Manito Plant sale this Saturday



The Friends of Manito Plant Sale is this Saturday, September 8, from 8am-3pm, just East of Gaiser Conservatory in Manito Park. Many of the plants will be marked at up to 50% off their regular price for this fall sale. Among the over 500 varieties of plants on sale are shrubs, vines, grasses, plants for sun and shade, along with succulents and houseplants. New at this year's sale will be face painting from 11-1, at the children's area in the back corner to have your child get an artistic makeover, and there will be live music all day. The Friends of Manito members receive 10% off their purchases.

ALSC Architects announce additions to their staff



Ed Hatcher is an Architectural Project Designer with a background that includes large, complex national and international award-winning projects. He is a key team member for several projects at Mead School District including the new Performing Arts & Athletics Complex.

Cody Rathbun has joined ALSC as an Architectural Intern. A 2018 graduate of Washington State University, Cody is applying his design and graphic skills to the new Mead School District Performing Arts & Athletics Complex.

Todd Keller has joined ALSC as an Architectural Intern. Todd earned his Masters of Architecture from Montana State University in 2009 and is applying his design talents to projects for Mead School District and Walla Walla Community College.

Dinner on the Bridge fundraiser coming Sept 14

Women & Children's Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen will host its 2nd annual Dinner on the Bridge: Celebrating Farm-to-Fork on Friday, September 14 from 6-9pm. This special Spokane event is presented by Spokane Federal Credit Union.

Experience a celebration of regional farmers, culinary creativity and artisan producers with an alfresco dinner on the South Howard Street Channel Bridge (near the carousel) located in Riverfront Park. Your dinner will be served with regional wines and microbrews.

All proceeds from this event will enrich WCFR programs assisting and educating women, children and families living with food insecurity. 70,000 meals are provided annually by serving three weekly meals in their restaurant and delivering meals to 28 partner locations across the community. WCFR also offers adult and teen nutrition education classes with the goal of filling nutritional gaps and creating a healthier community.
