Contract Design Associates celebrates 35 years of making business more productive

This month, Contract Design Associates, Inc. (CDA) turns 35. Founded in 1980 by Bruce and Jill Butterworth, CDA has grown to be one of the largest office furniture dealerships in the Inland Northwest. In 1984, CDA became a dealer for Herman Miller office furniture and has consistently been one of the top performers nationally.

CDA owns a 16,000 square foot office and showroom at 402 E Sprague here in Spokane and recently purchased a 6,000 square foot office and showroom to house their Missoula operations which were established in 2012. CDA currently has 21 employees and continues to grow.

Panera Bread coming to Spokane Valley

A long-awaited Panera Bread restaurant, complete with a drive-thru, is coming to Spokane Valley at 15716 E. Indiana Ave, just east of the Spokane Valley Mall. The 5,100 square foot building, costing over $600,000, is under construction, with Yost, Mooney & Pugh as the general contractor.

Panera offers many delicious items including freshly baked breads, pastries, sweets, bagels & spreads, breakfast, soups, mac & cheese, salads, broth bowls, pasta, panini & sandwiches, flatbreads and more.

'The biggest car wash in Idaho' opens today in Coeur d'Alene

Metro Express Car Wash opens today in Coeur d'Alene at the corner of Highway 95 and Cherry Lane, just south of Neider. Owners, who have other locations in Boise, Meridian and Nampa, say it is the 'biggest car wash in Idaho.' This 240-foot-long, retro, high-tech, psychedelic foam, environmentally-friendly, 170-mph air dry 150-hp vacuum, futuristic, neon day spa for your vehicle, will be open Monday through Saturday 7am to 9pm and Sundays 8am to 8pm.

Metro Express, which can clean four cars a minute (2500 a day), has a water reclamation system, and uses only biodegradable detergents. It is state-of-the-art with digital video cameras to track cars and know the amount of detergent and water used for each one. They will be offering monthly passes starting at $19.99 a month for unlimited washes, using a VIP lane. Metro also has 28 free vacuum stations.

Decorum Fine Home and Gifts grand opening Thursday

Sandra Lambdin's Decorum Fine Home and Gifts is having a grand opening celebration, with wine and appetizers, this Thursday, April 16 from 5 to 8pm in their newly expanded location, 126 North Washington. The new store is about three times the size of their former 2nd Avenue location and features an eclectic array of merchandise. The shop is a mini version of Seattle's Watson Kennedy with a wide selection of interesting items.

Anthony's Beach Cafe to open in Coeur d'Alene

Anthony's Beach Cafe, which recently opened at Regal Plaza on the South Hill at 4911 South Regal, will build a new restaurant at Riverstone in Coeur d'Alene. The location will be on Riverstone Pond next to Bardenay.

Anthony's Restaurants, headquartered in Western Washington, has locations in Washington and Oregon. The Riverstone location will be their first in Idaho. For more on Anthony's go to anthonys.com.

Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop, River Park Square tomorrow

It's that time of the year again! Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop at River Park Square will host Free Cone Day tomorrow, April 14 from 12-8pm to benefit Kevin Parker's Embrace Washington. The annual celebration is a way for the company to celebrate and say thank you for another year of support.

Stop by the Scoop Shop, located on the 3rd level of River Park Square and have local guest celebrities serve you a free cone! This year's guest scoopers include Robyn Nance, Stephanie Vigil, Jane McCarthy, Nadine Woodward, Leslie Lowe, Dave Sposito, Ken Hopkins, and more.

Richard Denenny joins Lee & Hayes

Lee & Hayes PLLC, an industry-leading intellectual property law firm, has hired well-known business executive and corporate attorney Richard Denenny to accelerate the growth of the firm's corporate, tax and securities practice. Denenny, based in the firm's Spokane office, will assist with the development of the firm's corporate practice in Spokane, Seattle, and the other five cities where the firm is located. YWCA of Spokane welcomes Dana Morris as Director of Development

Following an extensive national search, Dana Morris has been named as the new Director of Development for the YWCA of Spokane, a community institution for over 112 years.

Dana joins the YWCA following a 20+ year career in sales, service, marketing, and high end relationship management. She retired from the executive team at Nordstrom where she held leadership positions in Marketing, Strategic Planning and served as Special Presidential Project Coordinator securing funding for the company's largest IT project.

Dana has a history of increasing organizational revenues through innovative leadership, team collaboration and stakeholder communication.

The West Plains Chamber of Commerce has announced their new executive director, Joe Jackson.
